Our Story

Bedlam Farms Organic, formerly known as HolmSelect, grew out of two family-owned farming companies — M.F. Martin Ltd and Bedlam Farms.

For four generations, both companies have been at the forefront of farming in the Cambridgeshire Fens. In 2006, Clive Martin made the decision to convert a third of the farm into specialist organic vegetable production. Starting with Organic Asparagus, the farm has since developed a wide range of high-quality organic produce, supplying customers throughout the year.

Today, the next generation is building on this legacy. Tobias Martin, who joined the farm after a successful sales career in London, is now actively involved across all areas of the business. Bedlam Farms Organic continues to grow and innovate, expanding its range of specialist crops and strengthening its position as a trusted supplier of premium organic produce.

At Bedlam Farms Organic, we combine generations of farming knowledge with progressive organic practices to produce exceptional vegetables with integrity, provenance, and flavour at their heart.

Organically Grown & Packed Onsite

All of our produce is grown to the highest standards and is certified by Organic Farmers & Growers. Everything we sell is grown exclusively on our own farm. This gives our customers complete confidence that they are receiving exceptional, fresh organic vegetables that have been grown sustainably and travelled no more than one mile from field to packhouse.

Our farm benefits from a diverse range of soil types, allowing us to carefully match each crop to the conditions it prefers. We actively value and nurture our soils to produce healthy, well-fed plants with strong natural resistance to pests and disease. With on-site reservoirs and an underground mains irrigation system across the farm, we are able to ensure our crops are well watered even during the driest summers.

We are proud to have a dedicated and highly skilled team trained in modern organic growing techniques, as well as harvesting and packing technology. All produce passes through our on-site packhouse, where it is carefully assessed and packed to meet each customer’s individual specification.

Our Commitment

Bedlam Farms Organic is firmly committed to caring for and enhancing the environment in which we farm. We are members of the Sustainable Farming Incentive and are proud to be a LEAF Marque registered farm. We also belong to the Red Tractor Assurance Scheme and hold the relevant assurance certifications required by all our retail customers.

Working in partnership with our customers, we have taken part in a number of sustainability initiatives designed to strengthen biodiversity and environmental resilience. Most recently, we have committed to a 25-year pond restoration project in collaboration with FWAG East and Natural England, enhancing previously underused woodland areas to create habitat for Great Crested Newts.

Alongside our environmental commitments, we value our team highly and invest in their ongoing training and development. By providing guidance, support, and opportunities to grow within their roles, we aim to create a positive and rewarding working environment for everyone on the farm.
